Historic Bellevue Avenue
Bellevue Avenue
The 2 mile Historic Bellevue Avenue walking tour in Dublin, GA focuses on the eclectic architecture and influential homes history that correlates with the Downtown Dublin Walking Tour, all while you get in your steps. Bellevue, or Belleview, Avenue appeared in public records in the mid-1880s. Before the development of this avenue, it was a dirt road known as ”The Old Hawkinsville Wagon Road” that began through the Fuqua Plantation. Most of these homes arose from the agriculture growth in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, a period of expansion in Dublin’s history. Varied architecture lines the “Millionaire’s Row” giving this “Belle” a beautiful “View”!
As Dublin continues to grow and develop, a motivation to preserve history has arose creating an unparalleled energy and elation for the downtown scenery. Visitors and residents alike can find a thriving and renovated downtown area that offers refreshing green spaces and wide sidewalks to enjoy the walking tour.
